A Martin County family believes a lightning strike touched off a fire they say only took four minutes to reduce their home to rubble.

Berkley Perry and his wife Laura say they're in disbelief that their Jamesville home is a smoldering heap of irreplaceable memories.

Perry believes lightning caused their home to go up in flames during the stormy weather Tuesday night.

Perry says he and his wife were at their mothers house when they heard a loud noise.

When they returned to their two-story, 5-thousand square foot home, they say it was engulfed in flames, killing two of their dogs that were trapped inside.

Perry says he did have homeowners insurance, but the money they will receive cannot replace the pictures and memories of a lifetime.

I am so sorry for your loss. As an animal lover, I know how hard it must be for you to lose your pets. I am a PomPoo Breeder and if you'd like I'd like to give you one of my puppies. They'll be ready in August.
