Police in Gaston County say a Dallas, NC man was killed in a machinery accident Thursday morning.
Rescue workers found Robert Lee Wallace trapped in a machine at Universal Forest Products in Dallas. The machine is used to manufacture wood products. Police believe his clothing got tangled in the machine around 7 a-m.
Rescuers say Wallace's coworkers found him after they noticed the machine was not working properly and called 9-1-1 within five minutes. Rescuers arrived approximately four minutes later and found him crushed between parts of the machine.
Officers say Wallace's job was to keep wood debris free from the machine.
