It could be the biggest day of the year on Topsail Beach in Pender County, the annual sea turtle release

Its almost like the red carpet. Screaming fans and dozens of cameras, but this is more like the sandy carpet and the stars are once injured sea turtles.

First the turtles are weighed then loaded into trucks before they make their way to the beach, where hundreds of spectators have lined waiting for a glimpse of 14 Green Turtles, 8 Loggerheads and one Kemps Ridley.

As they head down 'turtle row" some have their flippers flapping away and are ready to begin their new adventure, others like a massive loggerhead, are a little skeptical about a venturing out into the deep blue sea.

An injured turtle named willy, who came to the hospital recently all the way from the United Kingdom, will be release in the ocean next Wednesday.
