Former Senator John Edwards says a volunteer did ask a Wal-Mart store for help in getting a Sony PlayStation Three.
But Edwards tells The Associated Press that the volunteer, who he calls ``a young kid'' was attempting to get the game for himself and ``feels terrible.''
Earlier, Wal-Mart said that on the same day Edwards was criticizing the company in a conference call with union-backed activists, a staff member had asked a Raleigh, North Carolina, electronics department manager to obtain a P-S-Three for the ex-senator's family. Wal-Mart accused Edwards of not waiting his turn.
Edwards says that allegation is an attempt by Wal-Mart to divert attention from its own problems.
