After seeing the scene in Columbus County, it's clear Eastern Carolina escaped serious impact from the storm. For the most part, areas around the East were spared substantial damage. But authorities say the strong winds and slick roads did cause a truck to overturn in Goldsboro. It happened around 7 a.m. Thursday morning on Royal Avenue. The truck carrying plants and shrubbery, left deep skid marks across the busy intersection and snarled traffic until about 12 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
