He's been named The Sexiest Man Alive one more time, and he's coming back to North Carolina.
Portions of a new movie starring Oscar winners George Clooney and Renee Zellweger will be filmed in North Carolina. The announcement from Governor Easley's office comes one day after People magazine named Clooney its Sexiest Man Alive for the second time.
Production for the romantic sports comedy "Leatherheads" is expected to begin in early 2007. Easley says several sites are being considered, including Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Statesville and Salisbury.
In October, Clooney visited Salisbury and the nearby town of Spencer as possible sites for the Universal Pictures movie about a professional football league in the 1920s, when the sport is just catching on.
Parts of the movie, which Clooney co-wrote and will direct, also will be filmed in South Carolina.
