Budget cuts means the DMV's mobile service center will no longer make stops in Belhaven, Farmville or Kill Devil Hills, and cut backs at other stops in Eastern Carolina.

The DMV maintains four mobile service centers which travel to small towns to deliver driver and vehicle services.

The mobile center previously parked at the Municipal Building in Belhaven during its once-a-month stopover. In Farmville the mobile center will no longer make its monthly stop at the Municipal Building. In Kill Devil Hills, a twice-a-month stop at the EMS station will end.

The DMV is also eliminate some stops at other locations. At Hatteras, the visits will be cut to just the third Thursday of each month at the Civic Center.

In Plymouth, it will visit only on the second Tuesday of each month at the Port O' Plymouth Museum, and in Windsor the mobile service center will now stop on just the first Tuesday of each month at the Municipal Building.

The DMV says the cuts begin June 1st.
