A California couple are facing federal charges after they refused to stop their public displays of affection during a flight to Raleigh.
Authorities say Carl Warren Persing of Lakewood, California, and Dawn Elizabeth Sewell of Huntington Beach, California, interfered with flight crew members during a September 15th Southwest Airlines flight. They face a December eleventh trial date in U-S District Court in Wilmington.
According to court documents, flight attendants saw Persing and Sewell kissing, embracing and "acting in a manner that made other passengers uncomfortable."
Authorities say a flight attendant asked them to stop, and they obeyed at first, but soon resumed the behavior and harassed the flight attendant.
Law enforcement officials were waiting for the couple when they arrived in Raleigh.
