A winter weather advisory is in effect until 7am on Saturday for Beaufort, Mainland Hyde, Martin, Outer Banks Dare, Tyrrell, Washington and western Dare County. The threats are black ice and slick roadways.
Though the emergency contraceptive, the "Morning After Pill" has been available without a prescription to those 18 and older since August, some people are uncertain about what the "Morning After Pill" is. According to pharmacist Joe Kue, unlike RU-486, the "Morning After Pill" isn't effective once the woman is pregnant. Kue provides the pill at his pharmacy, though he's only sold one dose in the past four months. In North Carolina, pharmacists can refuse to dispense the pill, and Kue supports that, too. Despite the controversy, the pill is available while a national discussion about lowering the age limit to 16 continues.
