Mini-Scholarships To Enrich Educational Experience For Children

Ten mini-grants of $200 each were given to the educators as part of the 10th anniversary celebration of Weyerhaeuser's Cool Springs Environmental center in Craven County. The center which opened in 2006, has seen more than 30, 000 people tour its facility. It's a 1700 acre forest that features hands on learning from subjects ranging from birding, to water quality to identifying reptiles. The Cool Springs center is located near the town of Askin.
