D.N.A. Solves Rape Case

A rapist is now headed to prison because of
D.N.A. profiling, a science we showed you earlier this week on WITN-7 News at Six.
D.N.A. from a rape kit led police to Charles Gardner four years after the crime took place in Greenville. Gardner pleaded guilty and faces at least 14 years in prison. The D.N.A. match in a national database of convicted criminals came up earlier this year when Greenville police resubmitted the sample. Gardner had a previous conviction for rape.
