Its approved. ECU school officials tell WITN, the 32 member UNC Board of Governors just unanimously voted in favor of an academic program for a dental school at East Carolina University.
The vote came down around 11 this morning. So what's next? The NC General Assembly must approve the funds to build the facility and hire the additional faculty to operate the school. School officials tell us the first students will enroll in about 4 to 5 years, depending on favorable action by the General Assembly.
