Veteran CBS News correspondent Ed Bradley is dead at 65.
In an on-air announcement, anchorwoman Katie Couric says Bradley died this morning in a New York City hospital from complications of leukemia.
Bradley spent 35 years at CBS. During that time he did everything from working at their local New York radio station to covering Vietnam to anchoring the Sunday night news. But he's probably best known for "60 Minutes." Bradley was in the midst of his 26th season on the network's flagship newsmagazine.
He won 19 Emmy awards, the most recent for a segment on the reopening of a 50-year-old murder case.
Bradley was born in Philadelphia, lived in New York, and is survived by his wife.
