The decision by Delta Airlines to leave the Kinston Jetport has those who fought to bring the service there, fuming. Delta Airlines officials have announced their plans to pull out of the North Carolina Global Transpark in on January 6. A spokeswoman from Delta carrier, Atlantic Southeast airlines, says the shutdown is due to intense competition from surrounding regional airports. John Marshall of the Lenoir County Committee of 100 says he regrets his fight to bring Delta to Kinston saying, "Unfortunately, in hindsight, I wish we'd done a different deal with a different airline." Flights booked for after January sixth will be transferred to Raleigh.
