If you've got some time off and want to do something fun this summer but don't want to shell out big bucks for the trip. WITN has a look some adventures you can partake in right here in Eastern Carolina.
Let's start off with the Lynwood Zoo in Jacksonville, who wouldn't want to check out a llama or North African Porcupine.
If you're interested in more of a beach scene, the Outer Banks has tons to offer plus you can soak in some history at the Wright Brothers Monument in Kill Devil Hills.
The Memorial Museum in Belhaven is always a good trip, you can check out more than 30,000 buttons there collected from around the world.
If you're interested in leaving the kids behind and going on a romantic getaway, how about the Duplin Winery in Rose Hill where you can go on a wine tasting tour and have dinner in the bistro's courtyard.

Summertime means anything out on the water for us. Fishing, Surfing, Wakeboarding, Waterskiing, Tubing, and just riding the boat and the jet ski. Time at the Outer Banks, Atlantic Beach, Wrightsville Beach & Wilmington, Albemarle Sound, Pamlico/Pungo area, Oriental, Shack, Masenboro, Chowan River, Lake Gaston, fun fun fun! Also some baseball games in Kinston and Norfolk (not in NC at all) as well covers the summertime hobbies. My wife and I are so glad the tax season is mostly during the winter.
