The Pirates Bowl hopes and possibly a winning season were on the line in Orlando, Florida as the Purple and Gold took on the Golden Nights Saturday.
In the beginning, it didn't look good for the Pirates. They were down 7 to 3, when Quarterback James Pinkney gave the ball to Brandon Fractious who ran the ball 17 yards for the touchdown and the lead, 10 to 7, and the Pirates never looked back. Thanks to some great defense at key moments, like when the Golden Knights were driving with less than a minute left in the game, and only trailing by 6 points. But ECU's Casey Ross not only made a great interception, but he then returned it for a touchdown to put the Pirates up 23 to 10, and seal the victory for the East Carolina team. The Pirates improve to 5 and 4 on the season, a winning record, and their Bowl Game hopes stay alive.
