Methodist College changes its name to Methodist University Methodist College will now be called Methodist University.
School officials announced the change during a 50th anniversary convocation ceremony. President M- Elton Hendricks says the name is more fitting with what the school does.
It will take months to change all the entrance signs, letterhead and logos, but Hendricks said the process has already started. The school's board of trustees approved the change Saturday during an annual retreat. The private, four-year college has about 21-hundred students and offers undergraduate and master's degree programs.
