Woman Survives Wanchese Stabbing; Husband Charged
Deputies say the victim was stabbed five times and the knife was found underneath her as she laid in the front yard.

A man is in jail and a his wife in a Norfolk hospital after a stabbing over the weekend in Dare County.
Dare County deputies say is happened early Saturday morning on Mill Landing Road in Wanchese.
They found the victim, Kathy Montague, laying on her stomach in the front yard with five stab wounds to her stomach.
Lance Montague, Sr. has been charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. Authorities say the two are married.
Deputies say they recovered the knife from underneath the victim. She is in serious, but stable condition at Norfolk General Hospital.
The 49-year-old suspect will have his first court appearance Tuesday and is being held without bond.

I know Wanchese is in Dare County on Roanoke Island. I was being sarcastic. Still hope the lady is ok though, was not being sarcastic about that.

OMG...wow, I am not suprised, but I am sad to hear what happened, her and her family definitely have a reputation in Dare County. They need to keep Lance locked up, and Kathy, once she gets out, maybe try to straighten up. I am grateful I did. She and her family are in my prayers.

I know Kathy and Lance I lived in wanchese for many years and it is truly sad what has happened here. I feel for Kathy's children. As far as anyone knows right now that Kathy is hanging on. Lance is in raleigh prison right now and is under a 1 million dollar bond. I wish people would update articles more and let people know what has happened.
