The problem with drug dealers is in the court system...these guys have been arrested numerous times, amd will continue to be arrested over and over again...repeat offenders. The courts slap them on the wrist and turn them loose. It's all about making money for the county and the state. And as far as the whole "racial profiling" comment - if you don't want to be treated like a suspected drug dealer...DON'T SELL DRUGS! You think they are the only bored kids with nothing to do in Tyrrell County? Just because they are bored doesn't give them the right to break the law. Also, did it ever occur to you that no black officers have applied to TCSO? And what will happen when the black officer arrests those same people for the same crime? Will it be racial profiling then? I don't understand people...does everything really have do to with race? Bottom line...when you break the law you pay the consequences.

Seriously, these are the most outragous things I've ever read!!!!! Here's how Columbia works, If your family comes from money you have nothing to worry about. If they don't, well that's too bad. The TCSO and Tyrrell Co. Schools work the same way. It's all in who you know. I know for a fact that they profile-- hell one of my cousins are on the TCSO and I don't trust her. My family didn't have money but hers did. She thinks that she's better than everybody else when she's not in uniform, so can you imagine the attitude she has against these individuals who do live up railroad??? Railroad is full of grandparents having to raise these delinquents and they can only do so much. Put programs in effect to give these boys something to do other than sell drugs. Then start treating everyone as an equal. Or is that too hard since all of these boys are black. As a matter of fact, Why doesn't TCSO have ANY black officers???They have a black police dog though!!!!!!!!!

I noticed I had been mentioned a couple of times in the comments, so I thought it might to helpful to respond. The comment made by "Terry" was on track.. If you want the drug dealers in Washington County to be arrested you do need to VOTE someone in office that can and will get the job done.. As for the comment by "tired" about me as a Probation Officer having the authority to make drug arrest is not true. As a probation officer we can only enforce the conditions of probation noted on the judgement which was ordered by the judge who imposed the suspended sentence. We cannot make arrest of people not on probation - OUR department does not allow it even though General Statues does. However; one thing is for certain.. If I am ever elected Sheriff of Washington County - It will be "one sad day" for the drug dealers in our community....
