Elections Offices Across The East Are Gearing Up

The Pitt County Board of Elections is among those. It has tested its computers and trained its staff. Deputy Director of Elections for Pitt County, Dave Davis, says the county has readied the 320 poll workers manning the county's 39 stations. Davis says county voters can expect shorter visits to the polls as many processes have been updated and streamlined. Among those slow, manual checks of long voter registration lists have been replaced with individual printouts for each voter. Davis says everything is on track. Davis says so far, 2400 voters have cast their ballots during Pitt County's early voting.
