Troopers say alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in a crash Monday night that killed a teenager.

18-year-old Michael Rodriguez of Dover died in an accident on Caswell Station Road in Jones County.

The wreck happened around 9:30 p.m. Troopers say Rodriguez' vehicle veered off the road, hit a ditch which caused the car to overturn before striking a tree.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident and Rodriguez was the only person in the car.

That is heartbreaking and our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the boy. That goes to show you that it's not worth driving drunk.
