Charges have been filed against a driver police say is responsible for an accident Monday. Sixteen year old Justin Sutton was charged with reckless driving and failure to maintain lane control.

The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 264A and Moye Turnage Road, outside of Farmville, Pitt County.

Police say Sutton hit two cars. Two stop signs at the intersection were torn down, and one car received extensive front-end damage, with it's air bag deploying.

There were 5 people in the car Sutton was driving. Eight people all together went to Pitt County Memorial Hospital. They're currently being treated and will be released. None of the injuries are critical or serious.

Rescue crews in Pitt County were busy Monday afternoon after a three car crash sent eight people to the hospital.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 264A and Moye Turnage Road, outside of Farmville.

Troopers says they're still piecing together how the accident happened. Two stop signs at the intersection were torn down, and one car received extensive front-end damage, with it's air bag deploying.

Some of those taken to the hospital received serious injuries. Both lanes of U.S. 264A were shut down for more than an hour as crews worked to clear the highway of the crash.

To Ted, That is right at where I got hit by someone who ran a stop sign and I had to go to the hospital for 2 days with a broken leg. You are right about Greenville having some idiots behind the wheel. To CH, don't judge 16 year olds, only a very small percentage is involved in wrecks that it's their fought. 16 year olds getting in wrecks just end up getting more publicity when in wrecks than what the grown people do. Cindi, as far as I know, I think that was an old law that no longer exists.
