Investigators are in Rocky Mount today to try to find out why a small plane crashed Sunday afternoon, killing two people.
The plane went down yesterday afternoon in a rail yard just
south of downtown. A fire department official says the pilot told
the tower at the Rocky Mount-Wilson airport that they'd missed
their first landing attempt and were circling to try again.
The victims' identities were not immediately known. City
officials say the plane, a Cessna Skylane, was registered to an
owner in Wilson.
