It's a facility that specializes in material recovery by processing over 27,000 tons of residential, commercial and industrial recyclables each year. But behind its rugged walls lies a group of special workers. Workers like Delonta Hutcherson, who forged past his disability and gained a new sense of independence in the process. The Eastern Carolina Vocational Center employs and trains over 50 workers with disabilities. The program helps employees become more independent by offering full benefits and a budgeting program.
