On and off quick downpours will be possible through Sunday afternoon. Heavier rain could bring another 1 to 3 inches of rain to a few locations late Sunday and into Monday afternoon.
Residents in the Winston-Salem area were awakened before sunrise with a 2.6 earthquake which the US Geological Survey describes as “micro.”
Authorities say they’ve received no reports of injuries. The epicenter was estimated at three miles ENE of Winston-Salem, and was first felt at 4:56. A dispatcher at the Forsyth County sheriff’s office says, “It kind of startled people.”
