Witnesses and authorities say an 18-year-old girl was shot after a gun discharged when it was apparently dropped at a mall in Fayetteville last night.
Police identified the victim today as 18-year-old Crystal Anderson. She's listed in stable condition at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
One witness says she was shopping at Cross Creek Mall when she
heard what she thought was a gunshot. Goodman says she then saw a girl lying in the floor. The witness also says she saw a gun on the
Another witness says the person who dropped the gun attempted to
blend into the crowd of shoppers.
Fayetteville police say authorities have detained a person pending an investigation. No charges have been filed and the person's name hasn't been released.
