Some sad news about radio host Jack Boston. You might remember him from his time on the airwaves here in Eastern Carolina nearly two decades ago, at WDLX. Boston has been diagnosed with leukemia, according to the News and Observer. The paper reports Boston got the diagnosis after his very first broadcast at his new job at WPTF in Raleigh , where the 45-year-old was recently hired as the new host of North Carolina's Morning News. A substitute will fill-in until Boston returns from chemotherapy. Leukemia is a cancer of the bone marrow and blood. More than 200,000 people have the disease. An estimated 22,000 will die in the U.S. this year because of it.
