Murder Suspect Gets Life Without Parole

A grisly murder case in Martin County is now closed.

87 year old Brownie Highsmith was brutally stabbed to death on June 11th, 2002 after she identified a man robbing her in Robersonville. Friday in court, 28 year old Mickey Vonrice Rollins pled guilty to first degree murder. Rollins was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. He will serve out his sentence in the Department of Corrections in Raleigh.
