On The Road: Bogue Sound Elementary

The first school stop when WITN News at Sunrise goes "On the Road" over the next month is Bogue Sound Elementary in Carteret County.
The school is home to the Cougar Cubs, and their school mascot's name is Shadow.
Principal Terrie Beeeson says 500 students are enrolled at Bogue Sound Elementary, from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade.
More than 1,100 comments were submitted to the "How Cool is Your School?" blog at witn.com. However, Marsha Sirkin's fifth grade class created an entry that quickly got the attention of the panel at WITN choosing which schools the Sunrise Crew would visit.

Hi I have the urge to keep writing you over and over again. I fell that J.T Barber Elemtarey school is the best and brightest in that state of North Carolina. As our princapal says.We should have the oppurtunity to show what were working with. We have the best resources teachers. Such as Drama teacher Mrs Anderson, she directs almost all the plays at the Shriners club. Ms Peel, Our dance teacher has the flexibility of a gymnist, Our P.E teacher, always comes up with new wasy to stay fit.Our Music Taecher just marvelous. And our art teacher the best
