Seafood festival organizers estimate $26 million could be pumped into Carteret County's economy. Shops and restaurants in Morehead City are already gearing up for the big weekend. Retail business owners tell us they will have extra stock, staff and extended hours to accommodate the 140,000 plus visitors that are expected. Restaurant owners say they too are prepared for lots and lots of people. This is the 20th year for the North Carolina Seafood Festival. All of the proceeds generated from the festival benefit Carteret County non-profit organizations. Since 1987, over $1.8 million has been dispersed among participating Carteret County non-profit groups.
