Greenville City Council members are speaking out on a string of shootings, armed robberies and two murders. We spoke with several Greenville City Council members about what they think is the cause of the perceived rash of crime in Greenville. Council member Rose Glover, who represents the second district where the majority of the shootings occurred, believes drugs are at the heart of the community's crime issues. Glover said she and other city council members are working hard along with the police chief to step up community policing, in an effort to cut off the supply and demand for drugs. We spoke with the Greenville police chief last week and he contends the crimes are not related and what's occurring is not a crime wave or gang related.
