Last month we told about Rufus and Viola Harrell, an elderly couple in Washington County still struggling with the effects of Hurricane Isabel three years after the storm. The couple's home gets swamped with water each time there is a lot of rain. County officials say drainage and geography are to blame. Local officials were unable to help the Harrell's, who live in the Pea Ridge community of because it is unlawful to use public money to enhance private property. At our request Democratic Congressman G.K. Butterfield, came to see the elderly couple's situation for himself. Congressman Butterfield said he's appalled by what he saw and vows to get the couple some form of federal assistance. We will continue to follow this story and let you know what happens.
