It's that time of the year when many of us roll up our sleeves to get a vaccination to hopefully ward of the seasonal flu. But Pitt County Health Director John Morrow is more concerned about another health threat...a global flu outbreak called a pandemic that could kill hundreds of thousands of people. And those fall flu shots won't help. Morrow says that's because the timing of the next outbreak, and what the virus will do, are unknowns. And with most hospitals already operating at about 80 percent of their patient capacity, a pandemic would quickly fill available beds. That's why Morrow and other health professionals say we all need to get ready. You can find out how to do that by clicking on the following link: http://www.pandemicflu.gov.
