Damage from Monday's storm was like deja-vu for one man in Bertie County.
Howard Watford's barn in Colerain battled mother nature Monday and lost for the second time in less than a year. This year -- the damage is from a reported microburst -- last May a tornado hit his barn in the same exact spot.
Watford says, "Last year, Mother's Day it was the day and he called me today and told me it fell again. The storm had hit it again and tore it all to pieces."
Pieces of the barn flew more than 200 yards. The roof now lays on top of his tractor and combine that are worth over $200,000. It's an expense that he's not looking forward to paying again. Watford says he spent $25,000 last year to rebuild the barn that was completed in November, and he's afraid the way the economy is this year he might have to spend even more.
But Watford says he needs to make a living so he'll take his chances once more.
Watford says, "I just gotta try it again and keep trying."
