A teenager's first time driving can be an exciting and fearful time for both teens and their parents. According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, 174 teens were killed in car accidents last year in our state. Highway safety officers and teenage drivers decided to think of some ways to prevent these often, avoidable fatalities at the Safe Driving Teen Summit in Pitt County. One of those ways is to draw up a contract between the teen and parent, with the parent pushing for safe driving and wearing of seat belts.
