Six robberies in 48 hours; that's how many occurred in Greenville over the weekend according to Greenville police. Lawmen say one victim had to be taken to Pitt County Memorial Hospital for his injuries. Starting Friday night and running into Sunday night, police say robbery victims were held up at gunpoint, knife point and one victim was even assaulted with sticks, bricks and a trash can lid. Police say the last robbery occurred Sunday night at the Dollar General on East 10th Street. Police say the suspect held up two clerks at gunpoint before fleeing on foot. Greenville police say the investigations into the robberies are ongoing, but they don't believe the crimes are connected.
