The Potter's House of Miracles is really taking shape in Pitt County!
John and Laura Lee Potter, owners of Potter's Construction in Greenville, are the parents of five-year-old quadruplets who received quality care at University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina's Children's Hospital when they were born in 2000. To show their gratitude, the Potters are building a luxurious home in the Irish Creek subdivision, which is located in Winterville. The Potters plan to sell the home upon its completion in May. The net proceeds will go to the Children's Miracle Network.
The 122-bed Children's Hospital is the only one of its kind in Eastern North Carolina and the major referral center for pediatric patients in this area. In 2005, there were more than 30,000 pediatric patient visits from those who received inpatient, outpatient or emergency services at ourthe hospital.
Children's Miracle Network (CMN), a fund-raising program of the Pitt Memorial Hospital Foundation, raises funds for Children's Hospital that are used to provide support for programs and services throughout the 29 counties it serves. In June, the 21st annual Children's Miracle Network Celebration Broadcast raised a record $1.7 million. One hundred percent of the money raised through the CMN program stays in eastern North Carolina.
