A Beaufort County man is $400,000 richer, thanks to the North Carolina Lottery.
Tim Whealton of Chocowinity bought the lucky ticket at Mike's Mini Mart on Highway 33. Tim, who picked the numbers on his ticket, won in Wednesday's Powerball drawing.
Tim owns a construction business and was driving from a job Thursday when he called Mike's Mini-Mart to check on the winning numbers. He said he had to pull over when he realized he'd won.
So what does Tim plan to do with all those dollars?
He said, "I'm going to pay off a few things. I got two kids, my son is in Iraq, and I'm going to get a college fund set up for him."
Remember, you can watch the Powerball drawing on WITN each Wednesday and Saturday night at 11:00 p.m.
