The Bertie County firefighter who lost his legs while on a rescue call is doing so well he is expected to go home in just a few weeks.
According to his wife, Timothy King started his road to recovery Wednesday with rehab. He's been at PCMH since the accident earlier this month.
She says nurses tell her this is the fastest recovery they've seen for this type of injury.
Now King's wife says they're working to get their home ready for his return. She says doctors told her it would be six months before he could return home, but now it could be as soon as two weeks.
On March 2, King lost his legs when a vehicle hit him while he helped another person involved in an accident in Colerain in Bertie County.

Way to go Tim!! I am sure you asnd your family are READY to get home and try to pick up some normal type of life again. Not to take anything from Tim, it is all WELL deserved, but his medical bills are falling under workmans comp, and will be completely taken care of! I am sure the family will appreciate the donations to help get their home in order and to just other wise help with other expenses that still have to be covered! Tim is one lucky man to be alive by all accounts, Someone has bigger plans for Tim that is for sure!

hang in there you guys, my brother had his lower right leg amputated in nov last yr, he has been on antibiotics since then it lowered his immune system to the point that he contracted c diff bateria infection so back to the hospital he goes long story short he's in rehab as this is written but coming along slowly but God is good all the time still, when it's your loved one you want instant recovery and total wholeness again. Prayers have been answered and are still being answered and I'm thankful.
