A mother is headed to prison after pleading guilty to killing her baby.
The Duplin County District Attorney says Cynthia Chesnutt entered the plea to second degree murder in the November 2007 murder of her 21 month year old daughter.
Authorities say she shook her baby to death.
Chesnutt was sentenced to 15 to 19 and a half years in prison.
Authorities say Chesnutt is a mother of 5, and say her 21 month old was not breathing when authorities responded to her home in Magnolia fifteen months ago.

It cost more taxpayer dollars to put someone to death than it is for a person to stay in jail and rot to death because of constantly going in and out of court. If anything they should give her life in prison. That and most people would rather be put to death than go to prison since it is an easy out. I believe her kids should be taken away from her pronto, give her life in prison, and no visitation with her 5 other children. But in a sense, people should really learn by now that it is VERY easy to shake a infant to death, therefore, STOP DOING IT!

I agree with "Me" how much does it cost the taxpayers to incarcerate sombody now ? How much have we paid to keep charles manson locked up for all these years ? They should have killed him 30 minutes after he was sentenced .
