Spinach Warning Expanded

The Food and Drug Administration expanded its warning Monday against eating spinach to include all fresh spinach, following an E. coli outbreak.

The initial FDA advisory Friday focused on just bagged spinach, but now, health officials don’t want you eating any fresh spinach.

Over 100 people nationwide have fallen sick to E. coli contaminated bagged spinach and health officials say those numbers are climbing.

So far, the bacterium has claimed the life of one 77-year-old woman and now, the death of an Ohio infant is being investigated.

Health officials say you need to stay vigilant, and avoid eating any fresh spinach, until they say it is safe to do so.
