The East Carolina University Pirates got their first win of the season, while taking on the Memphis Tigers at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium, in front of over 37,000 fans.
The Pirates trailed the Tigers 20 to 7 at halftime, but Head Coach Skip Holtz must have made one amazing speech in the locker room to get his team fired up because they were a different team when they stepped back out on the field. The Pirates outscored the Tigers 28 to nothing in the second half to win the game, 35-20. The Pirates get that first win a home, when they will have four more consecutive games before going back on the road.
