Tailgating a Must For Pirate Fans

At East Carolina University's first home football game, many were looking forward to seeing the purple and gold play, others were just as excited, to do a little tailgating.

Over 37,000 Pirate fans turned out to watch the Pirates take on Memphis at Dowdy-Ficklin Stadium, and a good majority of them took part in the time honored tradition of tailgating. You didn't actually have to have a tailgate on your car to get in on the fun. There were trucks, cars, s-u-v-s, even one guy rode around on a motorized cooler, so he was never too far from his drinks. But its more than just eating and drinking, its about getting ready to cheer on your team. And win or lose, you can always tailgate again at the next home game.
