For the fifth time this winter snow has fallen in Eastern Carolina. While many places got just a dusting or no snow at all, some areas received two or three inches of snow.

Several school systems delayed opening Wednesday morning, while others ended up keeping children home for the entire day.

The snow did cause some slick spots on bridges and roads, but by mid-morning slightly warmer temperatures and sunshine erased that icy threat.

The National Weather Service has now cancelled all winter weather advisories and watches.

Here are some snow reports:

3 inches in Fountain, Pitt County
3 inches in Bertie County
2.5 inches in Vanceboro, Craven County
2.5 inches in Wilson
2.5 inches in Tarboro
2 inches in Conetoe
1.5 inches in Goldsboro
1 inch in Bethel
1 inch in Chocowinity
Dusting in Greenville

(The photo with this story was sent in from John Weller of Craven County Wednesday morning.)

I LOVE SNOW ! My biggest thrill was the blizzard of '79 when we were stationed in at Great Lakes, Il Naval Base! It snowed for DAYS. Wish we'd get a good snow of a foot or so here ! As far as prejudices go, yankees will ALWAYS be yankees and southern folks will ALWAYS be southerners and don't want folks from the outside trying to come down here and change our way of life. Ya don't like what we like, the raod always leads back home.
