Remembering 9/11

President Bush started his day in New York City to commemorate the 9/11 attacks where he had breakfast with firefighters and police officers and bowed his head for two moments of silence. The President will also make stops in Shanksville, PA, where United Flight 93 crashed, and then to the Pentagon. The President will conclude the observance with an address to the nation tonight from the White House.

You can watch that address on WITN beginning at 9 p.m.

Americans also paused this morning at 8:46 a.m., Eastern time and then again at 9:06 a.m. remembering the first plane crashing into the World Trade Center, then another. Sniffles and quiet sobs could be heard as the moments of silence were observed. Some people crossed themselves and wiped away tears.

Be sure to tune into WITN all day today for coverage of the 9/11 anniversary.
