Where Are the Flags?

A new state law has students in public schools reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in all classrooms, but a lack of flags could pose a problem. Some teachers are using pictures of the American Flag, others have been having kids face the front of the school where the flag normally flies. North Carolina law had only encouraged schools to display flags in classrooms and recite the pledge, until last year, when the General Assembly approved the new law. It also directs schools to display the flags of the United States and North Carolina in all classrooms.
