The Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal hit and run from Craven County Sunday morning.
Troopers tell us 37 year old Fransisco Romero was riding his bike in the middle of Biddle Road, which is about 10 miles north of Dover, around 1 Sunday morning when he was hit, and killed. Troopers say both Romero and the driver of the car, Norman Dudley were under the influence of alcohol. Troopers say Dudley fled to his home, where he called family members who took him back to the scene. According to them, he blew over the legal limit and was charged with driving while impaired as well as felony hit and run. Troopers say Romero was pronounced dead on the scene.
