Tropical Storm Ernesto may be a distant memory for some, but one family in Pitt County is still out of their home and may not be able to move back for several months. The driveway of Charles and Martha Butts' home in the Pitt County town of Simpson is lined with ripped up floorboards and carpet. The couple isn't remodeling, but is trying to rebuild after flood damage from Ernesto which washed over Eastern Carolina a week ago. This is the third time their home has flooded in the past seven years. The couple said they would move to higher ground tomorrow if they had the resources, but finances and health conditions make things tough.
