Voluntary evacuations are still underway in the Duplin County area, after Tropical Storm Ernesto dumped over 8 inches of rain there.
Authorities said more than 100 people were evacuated Saturday, and homes, businesses fields, and roads had all been flooded. The Chinquapin Elementary School was an open shelter, that was taking in evacuees. Luckily, experts say the flood waters should start going down by Monday. However, they added that drivers were ignoring road-closure signs.
