On and off quick downpours will be possible through Sunday afternoon. Heavier rain could bring another 1 to 3 inches of rain to a few locations late Sunday and into Monday afternoon.
At Craven Regional Airport in New Bern, small air crafts similar to the one that crashed Sunday, are used to fly travelers every day. One airport official spoke out and had a message for apprehensive travelers. Tom Braaten says travelers should not be frightened at all. Braaten says the pilots that fly out of Craven Regional have flown for a while and have airport directories they look at to see where they've been cleared. He goes on to say they know what their aircraft is capable of doing and six thousand feet of runway works fine for the planes we have, so everything is in good shape. The Kentucky crash that took the lives of 49 people is still being investigated.
